Transcending is a 48" x 48" oil painting by artist Rebecca Robb.
As I was painting this piece, I had the impression my mare was a bit somber, which is what I first wanted to title this painting. Maybe it was me who was feeling somber, influenced by our uneasy global atmosphere. As I continued painting, I thought about it more extensively. I thought about what happens to us after going through a difficult time, we emerge, transcended, rare and beautiful. It is ok to be sad sometimes, or a lot. When the moment is right, sadness matures into depth and wisdom.
