Splash is a 11" x 14" seascape oil painting by artist Rebecca Robb.
With this little seascape painting I wanted to paint a close up of a splashing wave. I used a pallet knife to create the bursts and splashes of seawater. This technique adds so much texture and contrast with the distant sea rendered with a paintbrush in a thinner more blended way. This painting ultimately is a fun mini portrait of a splashing wave.
