Achieving a shimmer of sorbet sunset glow on the sand was my main goal for this painting. This accompaniment was two-fold as there are two textures of sand, wet and highly reflective sand along the water’s edge, and textural fluffed sand where wind, people, and wildlife interact. Because of the angle of the view, the sky reflects more on the sand than it does on the water, giving the painting an enchantment about it, like colors out of a fairytale. But then, sunsets are our own real life fairytale backdrop where magical moments happen.
