“Cow Lick” is one of my personal favorites. This young, sweet eyed, brown cow is my idea of what the color brown should look like in a painting. There are so many color variations in any single hue. Light, shadows and surrounding space influence and move colors in subtle ways and it’s the artist’s job to exaggerate those subtle colors so they are as bold as any other color to the viewer. Brown is still the dominate color here, but now it’s more exciting as it dances with complimentary and contrasting color.
