Low Tide is a 36" x 24" oil painting by artist Rebecca Robb.
There was a number of things I wanted to acheive with this oil painting. I wanted to paint a beachscape that looked like a beach you would go to for a walk, a swim or a day with the family. This is the scene you would see when you sit on the sand looking out taking it all in. The tide is low with a calm sea. The waves are small, mostly just the calm rush of sea foam gliding onto the sand. I also wanted this seascape to be very warm in hue. When you think of ocean art, cool, mostly blue, colors come to mind. This painting, although very much a blue seascape, leans heavily toward warms colors in the sky, water and sand. This seascape has the perfect color pallet if you want a coastal art piece that balances cooler surrounding decor.
